Announcing our Community Campaign Fundraising Total

We recently completed our 2016 Community Campaign! LaForce dedicates a week every year to raising money for local non-profits. Now, the big question: How much did we raise?

We are happy to announce that we surpassed all previous fundraising efforts. Our grand total is revealed in this 2-minute video clip. Check it out!

In addition, our leadership team decided to match employee donations (2:1) in recognition and support of their efforts. Thank you for helping us make a difference for these charities!

Your community spirit is not limited to one week a year, as you consistently give time and money to causes that are close to your hearts. This annual campaign is just one outlet for your generosity, and we know that the charities appreciate the support.

Green Bay, WI and Austin, TX

Charity: Down Syndrome Association of Wisconsin – Green Bay (DSAW)

Austin: We gave away two $25 gift cards to motivate employees!

Green Bay: The seven-person committee in Green Bay organized four days of events, combining old favorites with new endeavors. Here is a breakdown of the week:

September 26-30: Pre-sale efforts generated nearly half of our office’s donations. We sold jeans week passes, tickets for “Dress Down for Downs Day,” basket raffle tickets, poker cards for an office-wide poker game, tickets to the Kick-Off Lunch and Finale Lunch, and accepted employee Pledge Forms all week. On Friday, all 15 employee-donated raffle baskets became available for viewing. This year’s contributions were incredibly generous and creative!

LaForce Community Campaign 2016Tuesday, October 4: Casey Atkinson from DSAW provided a heartfelt presentation during our Kick-Off Lunch, where she described the organization’s mission and projects and provided information on how our donations would be used. Employees gathered for a taco/nacho bar, and we drew the winner of a 50/50 raffle.

LaForce Community Campaign 2016Wednesday, October 5: Last year’s popular Grab Bags and Popcorn event was resurrected, this time with twice the number of grab bags available. They sold out, once again, and people walked away with trinkets, food, and gift cards. The event was sponsored by the Volunteer Committee.

LaForce Community Campaign 2016Thursday, October 6: We tried a brand new event this year – a freewill donation bake sale. Countless dessert donations rolled in, and sweet tooths were satisfied all day long.

 

LaForce Community Campaign 2016Friday, October 7: We wrapped up the whirlwind of activities with a Finale Lunch, featuring soup and wraps. All raffles were drawn – Vacation Raffle, Airfare Raffle, and basket raffles – in addition to other donated prizes. Casey from DSAW was on-hand to hear our “total raised” announcement, which drew an emotional response.

Charity: Feeding America

We had jeans week, a guessing jar, raffle baskets, and a team lunch.

Cincinnati, OH

LaForce Community Campaign 2016Charity: V Foundation for Cancer Research

We hosted a “Split the Pot” raffle in addition to a bake sale, jeans week, and a candy jar guessing contest. We also gave away two personal care packages.

Columbus, OH

Charity: Mid-Ohio Food Bank

We succeeded in collecting pledge forms for nearly every team member!

Detroit, MI

LaForce Community Campaign 2016Charity: Kids Kicking Cancer

We held a variety of fundraising activities: jeans week, balloon pop for prizes, baby pictures match, food/coffee, ice cream and a pizza lunch.

Indianapolis, IN

LaForce Community Campaign 2016Charity: Gary Brackett’s Impact Foundation

We held a long-putt challenge, candy jar guess, jeans week, and an office cookout.

Madison, WI

LaForce Community Campaign 2016Charity: Second Harvest Food Bank

We had a candy jar guessing game, an “I Spy” game, pumpkin bowling, Nerf hunting, a dice game, and putt-putt. We also exploded a watermelon and took guesses on how many rubber bands it would take!

Milwaukee, WI

LaForce Community Campaign 2016Charity: Hunger Task Force

We raised money with raffles, grab bags, a long putt challenge, “Pie in the Face” to a manager, root beer floats, jeans week, and a team lunch.

Phoenix, AZ

Charity: Operation Enduring Warrior

We hosted a raffle, poker game, and a team lunch.

Vernon Hills, IL and Willowbrook, IL

LaForce Community Campaign 2016Charity: Greater Chicago ALS

Vernon Hills: We had a treat breakfast, raffle, jeans day, and a hole-in-one contest.

Willowbrook: We collected change in a jar and also organized an “Italian Raffle” and a team lunch.
